So, on Friday and Saturday, I attended Salt Lake Comic Con with my sister and my brother-in-law.  It was my first convention, and it was amazing.  Everyone was so nice.  The convention center was enormous, and despite it being completely packed, I never felt totally overwhelmed.  I will admit that I had several complete fan moments seeing people dressed as my favorite characters.

Also, there were so many talented artists at Salt Lake Comic Con!  I managed to pick up quite a few beautiful pieces of art (hence the attached photo).  I bought two gorgeous (signed!) prints by Alexander Iaccarino, one beautiful print and one original piece from Outpost Archives, and a small print by Rachelle Hearn which I absolutely adore.

love printed tees, so I got a couple of really cool shirts.  One is a Cowboy Bebop design sold by Bibisama, and it’s so comfortable!  The shirt feels very high quality, and I adore the artwork.  The other has a neat plague doctor design by SteamCrow/Monster Scouts.

Because I’m an artist, my sister surprised me with a wonderful refillable sketchbook.  The outside is leather, with a handmade Cthulhu face on the front.  That purchase came with an additional bracelet — the design is so creepy, I love it!

Plus, I picked up a book, DreamWake, by local author Jordan Bell and I cannot wait to read it!  Since I am an avid reader, I’m always looking for bookmarks; of course, I found the perfect one, Cthulhu in a dapper suit, from Deeply Dapper (who makes a variety of really neat products).

The pinnacle was for sure a necklace I bought from the nātür booth.  The pendant itself is very weighty but not bulky when I wear it.  It’s completely metal, cast from a mold of a bird’s skull.  I’d say it’s beauty with an edge, and I love it.  Plus, I was allowed a free key ring, so my sister helped me choose a little crab frozen in resin.  It reminds me of the sea, and lately I’ve been on an ocean kick.

Last but not least, while I didn’t get the name of the booth (I do remember the vendor dressed as Khaleesi/Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones), I bought a little plush of Crazy Diamond from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, and I love him. ❤ (Wow, I love things a lot, don’t I?  Count how many times I say love in this post and you could turn it into a drinking game, haha.)

Overall, it was an amazing experience and I had a ton of fun.  My brother-in-law has talked about attending again next year, so we shall see!  I think I’d be up for it. 🙂
